IREA is a pedagogic research institute in the field of adult and continuing education, aiming to provide scientific and methodological support for all the adult education institutions in Romania, to make the link between the academics and practitioners acting for education of adults. IREA's mission is to contribute towards the development of research and practice in the field of adult and continuing education nationally and at a European level, to professionalize adult educators in Romania.
The main research directions within IREA are: professionalisation of adult educators, impact of new media on adult learning, inter-generational learning and active aging, developing the concept for different support services, innovative didactics and delivery, workplace learning and key competences, social inclusion and active citizenship through education.
IREA is an authorised Centre of professional competences evaluation and certification for trainers and trainers of trainers.
IREA will be involved especially in WP3, designing a training curriculum and training materials.
